Google has also introduced Object Versioning, so you can automatically keep a history of old versions of your data. Google says you can also use this to help protect against deleting or overwriting data by mistake or due to application errors.

Meanwhile, the company is continuing to roll out European data center support. Google Apps Engine, Google Cloud Storage, Google Cloud SQL, and soon Google Compute Engine customers can deploy their apps, data and virtual machines to European data centers.

“This helps bring your solutions even closer to your customers for faster performance and enables international redundancy,” says product management director Jessie Jiang.

Google also announced 36 new instance types for Computer Engine, and it’s lowering the rpice of its original 4 standard instances by about 5%. In the coming weeks, High Memory Instance, High CPU Instance and Diskless Configurations will be available.

Finally, Google is introducing Persistent Disk Snapshotting, which Jiang says makes it “simple to instantly create a backup of your disk, move it around Google data centers, and use the snapshot to start up a new VM.”
